I'm back! with a Scrapbook page

Hi, I am back after a dreadful few days, including Blogger and Firefox having a fight, because of which I could not post anything.I have tried once and I couldn't post anything I have had to clear ALL my history, cache and cookies, which I have done again to be able to post aaarrrggghh! After this I may have to switch to Wordpress or the like, but I was happy with how everything worked in the past. Will have to see!

Anyhow onto my scrapbook page quite simple really, it's a sketch by Free Scrapbook pages.com .

I saw that on Digitally Sweet challenge blog that they asked for a layout with Fairy tale or Legend as the inspiration.  Well it tickled my fancy so to speak, so off I went to see what I could come up with and this is it.  One worn out hubby after a day in the garden and building a bird house, bless him.  My nursery rhyme? (Fairy Tale) it had to be The House That Jack Built LOL. (hubby's name isn't Jack)

The papers and some of the birds I used are from a digital kit "It's time to ...Say I Love You" by LetMeScrapbook.blogspot. The flying bird is by Carin Grobe and the birdhouse is by LouCee Creations.

Wedding card

Hi Everyone, another bitterly cold day, never mind it will make us more grateful for the Summer, as long as it doesn't rain like last year LOL

Just thought I would show you my daffodils that I posted in February are now STILL doing, I think it's the longest we have ever had them last..  I took these picture yesterday, even the tulips are poking their red heads through.  As you can also see, we have had no snow, the mountains around us have had plenty but they took it all for us.

Sorry it's at a funny angle, I tried to catch the clematis too, by the stones

Now onto a card I was asked to make, it had to be classy and have the colours purple, lilac and silver, took me a few days to get it together, then I spied Unicorn Dreams a kit by Skies the Limit Scraps I have in my files and the card became an idea, which just grew and grew as you can see, I took 45 minutes to cut out the flowers on the decoupage, without the layout design, but the kit did it make it a lot easier. I added Pink Petticoat paper as the background as it seemed to match it.  Then lots of Glamour Dust, I added a box and laid it in tissue paper, I have to admit it's one of those cards that occasionally, I really love.

70th Birthday card

Hi Everyone, Today is bright cloudy and very cold, we have been lucky and not had the snow that most of the country have been experiencing, if you are one of those people I hope you are safe and warm.

I have been so busy with card making, I wish I was like Vicky here making her 3 minute fabulous cards, mine take 2 or 3 hours at least and can take a lot more with the digital designing I do first, one I did last week took me an hour just cutting the elements out, but you'll have to wait to see that :)

I saw this post and it certainly made me think, what do you think?

http://vixykins.blogspot.com/2012/01/why-do-you-craft.html
"I do it, because it gives me pleasure, because I relax, and forget all the hardships of the day. And it doesn't matter to me, if I am good-in other people's mind... I am sure, that there are people who are much better! Good for them!!!  But, I am also proud of what I do too) I should remember that!
Why do you do it?"

Anyhow on to today's card, it's got papers A Day to Celebrate - Boys by Katie Creates all the embellishments are also from the kit. I have used them before on cards I have posted, but they come out so beautifully for a male card I can't resist them.  The digi stamp is from Digi Darla "Gramps", again it's such a useful image that I have used a few times.  I have layered "Gramps" and the bunting.

Sailing

Hi Everyone, I here most of you had snow today, we have been very lucky and have beautiful sunshine, although the sun has just gone behind the mountain, it's still bright and not too cold either.

Struck down with cystitis today, haven't had it for years UGH!, luckily the bathroom is opposite my craft (spare bedroom) room.  You not here to listen to my woes so let's get down to one of those birthday cards I told you about.  It's for another great nephew, he mad about sailing so hope this will please him.

I followed this weeks Simon Says Stamps sketch and I used a great digi kit Hatteras by Wild Blueberry Ink.  I won't go into all the details of how I put the papers etc together, I think maybe I bore you with all that stuff, so I will tell you about what I did with the card rather than all the Photoshop stuff, hope you agree?  I printed and layered the papers and all the elements which are from the same kit, including the PS brush sentiment.  I also added a PS brush to the plain background paper before printing. The tag is 3D'd.

The Boys DId It.

I can't believe I am going to do this as I am not usually a sporty person, Except when the 6 Nation Rugby Tournament is being played.

Whooaaaaaaaa!  The boys did it, we won the Grand Slam Rugby Tournament. Well done to the Welsh Rugby Team who have won for the second year.  We were playing against England and we thrashed them 30 - 3.  They were the last to beat, we had played Scotland, Ireland, France and Italy, this was all to play for and we DID it.

Can you tell I'm pleased?  I couldn't look as every time I watch on the television, they lose, so thought I would stay away from the TV and listen to hubby shouting to know what was going on, I could tell we were winning by the noise.  My friend rang from Spain in the middle of the match because she couldn't watch either AND her hubby was shouting too, my brother in Lincolnshire had lost his voice and his English wife was not talking to me LOL.  She had had a text from her daughter (who is born and bred in England) saying "C'mon Wales" which didn't go down well as SIL rang to tell me. We have such fun rivalry when anything Wales and England is on.

Go HERE to see the highlights, go on you know you want too. LOL.   Sorry the BBC say it's for UK viewers only, but here is one of the Tries with 10 minutes to go.

Dinosaur

Another post, whew!!!!!! I can't be well LOL.

I have to do 11 family birthdays this month and this is one of them.  I'll show the rest in later posts.

This is a for a dinosaur mad great nephew, there are so many images of dinosaurs, but I found this on Elizabeth Dulemba's colouring pages and loved that she called it "Aspotosaurus", so included the name on the front of the card.

I happened upon Colour Throwdown's colour mix for this week so used that as my base colours. I added Pink Petticoat's Little Dots paper and linked it to the spots, coloured the dinosaur to match and shaded him, then used PP blossom tree as I thought it quite prehistoric in this instance. The flowers are PP gingham, I added a wood overlay by Marisa Lerin onto the tree, don't know why, I just liked it.  The background I made and coloured to match the tree, but was lightened, I added texture to the background.  The "spot" font is EwieD.  The bird also has PP chevron paper added to the wing.  I have done all this in Photoshop.  The "Aspotosaurus" is 3D'd and so are the flowers and the 5. It's on an 8 x 8 card.

1st birthday Giraffe

Hi Everyone, in from the sun and cold, to being in with the rain and cold bbrrrrr.

I have a card today for a 1st birthday, I used a sketch that I liked by Meljens Designs also her Giraffe with tie digi, the papers are from a digi kit by Christine Mortimer at Digilicious Designs.  I have printed all the papers directly onto the card and 3D'd the giraffe and the buttons, a simple card but I really like the giraffe LOL.

Spots and Stripes

Hi everyone from a 2C sunny day here in Wales, very windy and COLD, with snow flurries, glad to say it doesn't seem to be settling  I am off on leave this week, so hope to catch up on a few things and do some orders I have for Wedding Anniversaries, luckily they are copies of ones I have already done before so NO thinking LOL.

I haven't put any card into the Less is More challenge for an age, so today I am going to put my card into the mass of wonderful cards there.  This is what is wanted -

It's a really tricky one this week girls!
Not only is it
ONE LAYER
but we are also asking you for
SPOTS and STRIPES
If we could use papers it would be easy, right?
We know you'll come up with some fabulous designs and are really looking forward to seeing what appears.
So for my one layer I used images from a digi kit Bugging Out by K Aagard at Digital Scrapbooking Studio.  For some reason this ladybird (ladybug) made me think of LIM immediately, but what could I do for stripes? looking through the files I came across the grass, of course there were my stripes, well I thought so anyway.  A few duplicates of each, a sentiment, printed out and there is my card,

Rabbit face

Hi everyone, Very cold day here today only 3C, but I am thinking further on, DH and me took advantage of B&Q's offer and bought 4 large glazed flower pots, hopefully they will add a bit of "style" to my garden LOL, at the moment we have old plastic pots, which are desperate to be replaced, so that's what we did.

Talking of thinking forward, or not that far really only the week after next, where did these last 3 months go from Christmas?  Anyhow, Marie known as baileyrosy  HERE showed teeth sweets on her blog and she said  she could send them to me, as I hadn't seen them in this country.  (Marie is in Greece), for me to make a couple of things they made me think of for Valentines day.  After her eating them instead of sending them to me!!!!, I eventually had them, but too late for Valentine's Day.  SO I have been thinking of what I could with these sweeties without eating them LOL.  and I came up with this!!!!!!!!! now I know the face isn't perfect but this is a trial run, but I laughed so much when it was done I decided to give you a laugh as well.  I made the face out of shapes and brushes in Photoshop, surprisingly quickly, I usually take ages to decide what to do then delete and redo, delete redo, but this was only 2 deletes, you can tell can't you LOL. The mouth and teeth are the sweeties, I must admit I cut out the middle of the mouth for the teeth to fit into and cut the Dracula teeth out and left the middle 2.  I used a face cloth to hold the face and pinned the mouth and teeth on.

 Here it my Runny Babbit!

Baby 1st birthday

Hi everyone, I've been a little lax this week blogging, I had a request to make 2 special cards asap, plus the family cards, March is such a busy month in our family, being a large family every month has at least 3 or 4 birthdays but March seems to be, someone to make for everyday. and I am not a quick worker with my cards, I tend to think too much and try this and that before deciding how to do something.

Anyhow, with lovely sunshine at the beginning of the week and cloudy murky weather now, I thought an ideal day to put a Spring colour card here, and this is it.  The cutie Lion is a freebie from colouring-pages  IMAGIXS via the web.  The gorgeous papers are from Pink Petticoat and the sketch I followed is from Sketch Saturday, the ribbon is from The Range.  The bubble oval SVG is from Heather M.  I paper pieced the lion from the PP papers too, then shaded in Photoshop, I also matched the colours of the eyes and mouth to the papers. The lion was decoupaged and the stars were 3D'd, I used glossy accents for the eyes, mouth and the 1. So here it is.

I'll enter the following challenges.

Happy St David's Day

Hi Everyone,

A little late in the day, but, Happy St David's Day to you all, especially my Welsh compatriots.

Here's a picture of myself in my Welsh costume taken in 1981, dare I say it, a mere 32 years ago, oh! my gosh I just realised that after counting it out.

For those of you without any knowledge of where Wales is, I have included a map of the UK to help show you. I did this in PS, followed a scrapbook template by Dawn by Designs at the Digichick.  I tried to do a fold line to match the paper by Aimee Harrison, (out of her Daffodil papers, which I also used for my blog header.)  but looking at it now, I think I need more practice!  Everything except the map, flag and my photo of course are by Aimee Harrison.

Hope this doesn't frighten you too much, the picture I mean, not the map LOl.
