CAS CFC72

I saw this challenge and thought what an great idea.  I started out by looking for a quote on daffodils, not really the subject for this time of year, but I love them all year around, must be the Welsh in me LOL.  anyhow, found this lovely quote which I thought -

house - blog,
lit up - when you visit,
sun shining - when you leave.

At least that's what I hope.  I used a kit Daffodilday by Aimee Harrison at Digital Scrapbooking Studio to make my header, so used it again, of course, to make the card.  As you know I am a digi girl so the card is a digital put together, I have added Glamour Dust to the windows and the top daffodil of the paper, I think this represents my blog. I hope you think so too.

Sorry about the quality of the photos, I had to adjust them because I took them in awful light and by flash, - not a good idea, for some reason it has given it a pinkish hue!

This is the challenge

Cheers 007

Dismal day here today, not very warm, high winds and raining, perfect for crafting LOL.  I'm back in work tomorrow after 2 weeks holiday, if you count my days off before I started my hols, it will be 20 days, Oh! I LOVE part time work LOL.  2 days a week retirement, still got the social life and the "rest" in between, lubberly jubberly.

Here is a card I did with a freebie from Papercraft Inspirations, as far as I am concerned he's 007, "martini, shaken not stirred" I have cut the poor man in half, to get him into the circle, used a Freebie kit Unforgettable from Lynnie Smith at DAISIE, which had the red stitched frame in it., that I have had for years, I added digi brads group and acrylic frame circle from "ghoulies" by Dawn by Design at the DigiChick.  I cut out and 3D'd the frame and the sentiment. Added 3D gloss to the brads, quite simple, but I am pleased with it.  Especially the fab frame.  Shame of it was, that I didn't realise my God daughters husband was 40 duh! He was pleased with it anyway :)

I'm entering the following challenges.

A Strongman!

At last a card for you.  I was asked to make a card to include reference to a gym, and his name and age, this is what I came up with.  The digi stamp is The Strongman from Mo Manning, I coloured him in PS, the little chick is by ValCDesigns, the paper is Hello Sunshine by KLewis, I followed a sketch Publication1 Willow Designs.

I layered the layer of  and 3D'd the strongman (I just love him and his expression) and the age label, then added 3D Clear Gloss to the digi brads and button.  The font is CluffHmkBold.  Hope you like it.

I shall enter this card into the following challenges.

I know a lot of challenges for me, but I may as well LOL.

We have blue skies with heavy and very dark rain clouds but  really beautifully warm in the sunshine, with a strong breeze, I hope it helps the poor people who have been flooded this week.  Here are a couple of photos, to show you how blue the sky is underneath some of those heavy clouds. AND what it's like when they pass over us.

A quick post of ANOTHER scrapbook page

Sorry, it seems I am going to bore you silly with the pages I have made LOL  I have used papers etc from the Mediterranean Meander kit by Studio4 Designworks at Digital Scrapbooking Studio. This is a lot plainer than my last attempts, but I like the fact I can do it anyway I like. I love I have no storage problems with more photo albums, just a bigger hard drive LOL.

Autumn

Oh! NO another scrapbook page, what happened to the cards?, I am getting such a thrill doing these, that I am looking for all and sundry to scrap.  This is one that I HAD to buy last night, Season of Change by Christine Smith, Here I love all the colours, then Vicky Hayes, told me about a scrap challenge at Addicted to Stamps, the theme is Autumn, SO, here is another for the same challenge as I posted earlier. It's of the Japanese Maple we have in the garden, I'm afraid it's last year's appereance though, we are not quite at that stage in the garden yet.

Sunflowers

I have told you I am now into scrapbooking, still can't get over that I am, after all I said about it LOL.
I had taken some photos of our "miniature" sunflower and as a trial for a different layout I went ahead with the flower.  I used Audrey Jean Roberts Sunny Days for the background, tools, flowers, and frames and various designers for the buttons and other elements.  Hope you like it.

I am going to enter this in the Addicted to Stamps Scrapbook challenge #4

Challenge card - 2nd post today!

I have been digital scrapbooking this last week and learning new things about PS i.e. layering, shadows and masks.  I have had a ball, in fact I have even made quite a few pages for a friend who wants to give them to her mother for her birthday, I am over the moon with them, I can't post them here as I do not have copyright, I will ask her if I can post one or 2 when I see her next.

Now onto my card, it's Meljens Designs Teddy Cookie, I used Pink Petticoat digi papers, with elements from a scrapbook kit by Amanda Creations  and Aimee Harrison at Digital Scrapbooking Studio and Bella Gypsey at DigiChick.  I LOVE these colours.  As you can see another all digi card, I love the reality of this, with all I have learnt this last week, I am thrilled with the elements in the corners including the ribbon on the bottom.  All I did then was to Stickle the heart and rosette and Gloss the feet ears and nose of the bear.

I am entering the following challenges

Only Boys Aloud

One of the son's of a girl in work has his 16th birthday next week, he is a member of the "Boys Aloud" group, that was in Britain's got Talent show and came 3rd, they are going on to greater things.  You can imagine the excitement when she came into work and said they were to appear on the show, of course we followed their progress from then on.

Anyway, onto the card.  She wanted the card to include a piano and drums as he plays these instruments, also the fact he is in the choir, and a lottery ticket, because he keeps saying "on my birthday I'll buy a lottery ticket and with my winnings ......" nothing short of a positive attitude ay?

As you can see lots of digi work in this.  I downloaded a piano keyboard, Union flag, the Only Boys Aloud logo that she wanted on, a drummer that I saw on the web that was drawn by Philip Martin, the scroll is a Panofix action for PS. and a lottery ticket.  I distorted the keyboard duplicated the flags to make bunting and then enlarged one to place behind the choir from a free colouring page, that I printed off, I scanned it in and then painted in PS. it was perfect for the boys.  His name and age are Jokerman font and I used a gradient to match the colours of the flag.  I just hope he likes it.  I think that's all I need to include in this.

Tape measure

I expect you are wondering what I mean by tape measure?, no I am not doing DIY, no I am not measuring my height in case I have shrunk in old age, no I am definitely NOT measuring my waist, it would be too much of a shock to see the numbers go from 24 inches, that was my 19 year old size, to ??  Can you blame me?

Anyhow, as you have guessed it's about a card, No, you shout, not a card? LOL  Here it is, quote / sentiment from Squigglefly.  (corrected supplier - sorry)

The tape measure image, I'm afraid I can't remember where I got it from, no saving hints either! I used PS to extend the tape to 3.5 inches, and paper piece papers into the shape. I used an overlay from Shabby Princess to frame the front and inside, the shopper is by Shari Warren.  I used a gradient on the words to match the paper.  In case you can't read it, the inside says "and it doesn't matter if the card is Visa or Mastercard!  Happy Birthday Girlfriend.  An all Digi card, which I hope doesn't stop me entering into the challenges.

I will enter the following challenges

Sentiment card

Hi everyone, what do you think of my new surroundings?, hope it makes for a bright and cheery visit, I actually made the header myself with graphics by Aimee Harrison at Digital Scrapbooking Studio.  I was thrilled to see she had a kit with daffodils in, just right, me thinks!

Anyhow now onto my card, it's for someone close, who didn't get what was expected of him in his exams, I always think there is a reason, and this quote from Create with TLC was just right for him.  I know he has a bright future, but not in his chosen field.  I made it with digi papers from a kit in an April contribution by Tcampanale named Raging Sea at Digital Divas Designs. I printed them all out and layered them, then added the stars, which I Stickled.

LIM 84

A second post today only because I had time to play and saw what the LIM challenge was -

Everybody's favourite!
The
One Layer Card
Challenge Week
For the focus of your contributions this week we would like to see
FOLIAGE
but PLEASE don't forget to leave that all important white space...

Of course I am a digi girl as you all know, so it HAD to be digi, but I decided against an image this time and as I had time, (for the first time in what seems like months) I decided to to play with my PS brushes, well it was just as well I had time, as it took me hours to get this together, but, a great learning experience as well.

I had leaf PS brushes by hawksmont.com. so I played with scattering, colour dynamics and shape dynamics, to get something I liked, then linked them with a shape I had from Mirkwood designs, I "stroked" the shape with orange that I also coloured the quote in. I printed out and added Glamour dust to the edge of the flower. So simple really LOL.

Back to school card

Weather here today is dark clouds with a chill wind, but dry so far, a lot different to the East coast of the country I here, my brother and SIL live in Lincolnshire and they told me this morning that it is blue skies and very warm, oh! well, I suppose we can't grumble we have had a week with lovely weather. LOL.

My youngest great nephew is starting school this week, so I decided to make him a card for a little encouragement, not that he needs it, he is thrilled to be going, although he will be going part time for a few weeks, to let him settle in, gently I suppose.  They didn't do that in my days!

Here it is, I used the same Meljens sketch as yesterday, love this layout. I used papers and elements from a free mini scrap booking kit by Kristin Argard Here and the wonderful Vroom Vroom car from Meljens Designs Here, I used this as he has to be driven to school.  I layered the papers after printing onto gloss paper. Hope he likes it.

I am going to enter a challenge or 2 today

08 September 2012

At last another post!

Here I am at last, life is certainly getting in the way of my posting.  Anyhow, I have 2 projects to show you today, all or nothing ay?

The first is a card for a friend who is "Gnasher" crazy, you'll know, if your old enough, it's Gnasher the dog from the Beano comic.  I followed a sketch from Meljens Designs and digi papers and elements "Moonlight Romance" - minikit by CreaDorena HERE  It's all done in PS printed out and 3D'd on the flowers and layered on the image and the sentiment, the font is Sparkly, the Stickled for sparkle.

My second project is guess what - a scrapbook page, now perhaps you know from the past I have always shied away from the scrap booking, thinking it a waste of time, well as I said in my last post, I am loving it.  I was up early this morning and after looking at the mountain we see from our living room window, I ran for the camera went outside and took the closeup photos, then thought I would wait for the mist to decrease, what happens? the blasted battery gave up, WHY does it do it at the precise moment you don't want it too.

I am too much of an amateur to make a page myself so I sort of copied a layout and sentiment by Bella Gypsy Designs Perfect home Here I used Gina Cabrera Sleepy stripes at Digichick for the background, changing the colours to match the rest of the colours in the page. The blue texture, and pinkish texture paper I did myself in PS, the palm leaf is by Kimbroedelet at DSD, the blue flower by Sherwood Designs at Digichick, the paperclip is from DAISIE.  I think that is everyone.  Here is the digital page I did in PS.

NO challenges, to keep the stress down LOL.

Scrapbook page

Hi everyone, me no blog long time.

I think I was overwhelmed with all the comments I felt had to do, so did VERY few!!! My apologies to you all, the cards and projects I have seen are absolutley wonderful and all needed praise, so I will say it here, I am seeing so many fabulous creations that I could never keep up with in creativity or the standard of work you all do.  Fantasic work. I think I will have to sit back for a while on my commenting, so ongoing apologies, I will be trying to do some, perhaps a few a day.

I have also had quite a few hard months, which has made me feel not in the slightest creative or even caring if I blog or not.  Sorry to be so negative.

Anyhow, someone in work and I were talking and she was telling me that she was making an album for her mother's 70th birthday.  She was telling me she was using an ordinary album and I really don't know why but I said "why don't you scrapbook them", now you know I don't scrapbook, I thought it a waste of time to "spoil" a photo as the other things on the page took over from the main picture, as I thought.  She asked me to show her, so I showed her, online, at a couple of examples, she loved it so I said I would do one of her photos to show her what it would look like.

This is what I did for her, the trouble is I LOVED doing it and have now spent a lot of time looking for photos of my own that I can believe it or not "enhance" oh! no another addiction and something I can do digitally, my first love LOL.  I have even done a page for a "challenge" below this one.  I know I couldn't win, but it really did give me a buzz to try and find a photo to match the colours and then go through my digi papers to match the colours.  The paper used etc are below each page.

The digi papers I used are Mysteria by Digital Diva Delights and the leaf branch are by C Stephens at Shabby Princess, I have blurred the faces as I haven't asked if I can use the picture on my blog.

The floral papers I have used are by Pink Petticoat the elements and pink zigzag paper is by Gina Cabrera at Digichick, the bunting is recoloured to match everything and is by Gypsy Bella also at Digichick. This is of my No.2 brother and his gorgeous granddaughter.

The challenge I am entering is

http://craftycroppersgr.blogspot.gr/2012/09/september-1st-layout-challenge.html  September layout challenge

the challenge is based on this gorgeous colour scheme
