Telephone Box cut out

I have been on a roll, and after seeing these challenges, decided to do another post tonight.

My great nephew lives in Belgium so I decided to make something from "home" for some reason, I decided to send a card with a telephone box on, but then thought, I wonder if I could make a cut file out of it, so off I went looking for pictures to give me a clue and found a telephone box George V style. I opened up Photoshop, got some lines together added a few shapes, linked them all together, put a crown on top and then printed the "TELEPHONE" onto it.

Next step was to save it as a jpeg and import it into Fairycuts my cutting program, I had to play about it with it again A LOT!!! but in the end was able to save it as a WPC file. If anyone wants it, send me an email.  As the word and crown were cut out, I added gold card behind the crown and black behind the wording.

Here is the card, I used Mikey from Charmed Cards and Craft, added 14 for his age and a Union Jack onto his T shirt, then thought it too plain, so added some Union Jack flags done in PS, I waved them so they looked like they were in the wind. Placed them onto a narrow ribbon and glued it to the card, with 3d pads underneath the front end, hoping they look more like flying in the wind LOL.  I added acetate behind the front to make it look like glass, perhaps you can see the shine in the photo.  I printed the sentiment on the card, inside it says "because it's your birthday"

I am going to enter the following challenges with this card

Sunflower CAS card

I have an Aunt whose birthday is next week, so I thought I'd incorporate her card into the Less is More challenge of Charms, I had a sun charm! what card to do with it?

I decided to follow the sun theme and use sunflowers, they are by Audrey Jean Roberts and I bought her bundle at DAISIE.  I had the SVG  freebie shaped card making kit from Sherry K Designs, I made it bigger to a DL size card.  The green card is textured by Papermania, the ribbon I've had for years and it's the last of it! The charm I had in a jewellery kit many many years ago, I think it was about 50 pence, I never did use the kit, but kept the charms that were in it.

Hope you like it.  I just noticed the edge of the white is shining (not blurred, that's only the background LOL) Inside I put a page of sunflower background from the kit, with the same shape as the white front, holding the verse.

I forgot to say which challenges DUH! Sorry

Flower pot card

I have been attracted to my Cricut the last few days and have made a couple of cards, that I wouldn't normally do, here is one of them.

It's from an SVG freebie bundle Garden Showers I had at Lettering Delights, I duplicated the pot part,  joined it together to make the card and then added the top and flowers.  I used different papers by Pink Petticoat, Gina Jane and Audrey J Roberts onto a pink card I have had for years.  I cut all the elements out and placed them on the card, embossed with a Cuttlebug folder.  I had the tag as a freebie from the bundle Delilah tags also from LD.

Although it's not my usual, I am quite pleased with it.

Yellow

I saw that a few challenges included yellow, this week, so I have made a card especially for the yellow challenges.

Quite a simple card, I had a free cut file from Shirley HERE such a lovely basket and flowers,  it cut so easily.  I cut the flowers from digi yellow gingham paper, where I got it from goodness knows, I keep finding files I've had for years, by putting a colour i.e. yellow, into My Documents Search!  I cut the leaves from Papermania textured card, the basket was cut from grey pearl card I got from The Paper Mill shop before it closed.  The bling is from Papermania.  The digi stripe paper which was printed directly onto the card is a PDF file another one I've had for years and didn't think to save by whom. The yellow strip I did in PS to match the stripe paper, I used the font Artistik, I think that's all.  Quite CAS perhaps?

Candles

Well after not being in time to post a few cards for the challenge at Less is More, I decided to really stretch myself, with of all things Doodling!!!!!!, I can't even draw a straight line, but after looking at all the beautiful entries this week, I thought come on, you can't give up.

Soooooooo this is my card, it is so childish that I thought the best thing to do is use my 'puter to write the sentiment and using a childish font, makes it look better somehow LOL.

The card is an ivory hammered card, I drew the candles with a pencil, coloured in with my "professional" Reeves Water Colour Pencils, very amateurishly, then as it was so bad I added the font KidsFirstPrintFont, just right!!!!!!

This just shows that I really can't doodle!, but had to enter it all the same - SORRY! It should give you a laugh though, hopefully!

More papers

I have got more papers if anyone would like to pick them up, last time, you could click on the pictures and get them from here, I'm not sure if it worked (no comments about them, sorry)  If it doesn't work, please email and I'll send the jpegs to you.

Here is a card I made with them, the colours were chosen from Design Seeds "Succulent Glow". It's a different colour selection I think, but I really like the colours.  The stamp is "Stella Peeker another drinker" by Bugaboo, I know she's a strange colour, but she has been drinking a lot!

Here are the papers, I wish I knew how to download a file here if anyone can help I would appreciate it. There are plain and patterned as you can see, I really couldn't stop with this lot.

I have tried and tried to get these in some sort of order, but it's a bit like the Rubik cube, move one and the rest go in the wrong way! My apologies for the untidiness of this page :(

Rose sympathy

It's been a very cold and VERY windy day here today, hope you are all tucked in and warm, those who don't have the advantage of living where it's warmer :)

I thought I would show you a card I made for the family of an Aunt who passed on a few weeks ago at the grand age of 96.

The roses image I had years and years ago and I have no idea where I got it from, but I love it.  I copied the colours in PS and made shapes then printed the piece behind the roses and the darker one, with the roses image, on Cuddly Buddly eggshell paper so they have a slight sheen, I printed the sentiment onto the card and embossed white card to add texture, added the ribbon and a nice verse inside.  A simple card, but I just love the colours.

I am entering the following challenges, I know the image isn't a digi, but everything else on the card, apart from the embossing and the ribbon, came out of PS and the 'puter hope it will be suitable.

Vroom---------- 18 year old card

Another request, for an 18 year old who has damaged 3 cars, I was told to include a car! not sure if this was a message for him?

I followed this sketch, I think it makes it so much easier for a quick card, or otherwise really :). I didn't follow the colour scheme as you can see, that was already decided with the image I chose.
I chose a digi stamp by Charmed Cards and Crafts named Driving Mikey, it turns out that the image looks like the boy it's for, how fortunate I thought LOL the image is ready coloured or you can do it yourself, this time because of the time frame I used the ready coloured.

The papers are by Gina Jane at DAISIE.  I looked for a font that made the word Vroom look like it was speeding through and found this called Speed of Oatmeal. I cut out the Vroom on my Cricut with Fairycuts, A border of cars was needed, why? just did! Anyway, I looked on the web for a car and found one, so I then made it into a border with Fairycuts. The tag is a freebie from DAISIE I've had for years I then used jute twine to tie a couple of knots.

Not really a quick card with all I made to cut, but I think it was worth it, in fact someone else who saw it wanted the same so it was not a one off as my cards are usually.

I'm going to add this to the following challenges -

50th birthday genaelogist card

I do have some difficult requests, this time I was asked to put a woman with a torch going through a graveyard, for a 50th birthday work colleague who has spent years tracing her family.

Well I searched and searched for a figure with a torch! in the end, I used Mo Manning's Checking FB, coloured in PS, which I thought is "searching" then went looking for headstones! found one at Birds Cards.com and another place but I didn't save where, AGAIN! sorry. I even made the one with the cross, with PS brushes and shapes,.  The tree, flowers and clouds background are from Trina Clark's Bumble Bears, I thought this lightened the whole thing, instead of making it a dark or Gothic subject.

What do I put on the headstones? then thought of the genealogy and came up with the sayings which I put on them.  I thought that putting the digi in the background would look odd, so added it as though she was thinking of the background, I hope that makes sense.  I 3D'd the headstones and the top of the tree, Stickled the 50 in gold and added Checking FB in a frame outlined with Atomic Cupcake's chalk Action in PS.

I think that's all of it.  I love getting elements together to make a picture and I am very pleased with this one.  I think she will be too.  Sorry the picture isn't too focussed of the close up, but had to repair an out of focus close up.  I photographed them in a rush and should have taken more time.

Oh yes the inside says -

....When your Family Tree started, so show all those ancestors what a 50th birthday is like in 2012 and have a GREAT one!

Blue butterflies

I have spent a couple of hours catching up on my blogger friends cards etc, WOW they've been busy, and such beautiful work too. I am home today, I LOVE this semi retirement, hope I can keep to these hours though, just 16 a week. GREAT!  I think my bosses may have other ideas, I keep telling them I'm an old lady now, they say don't be silly, plenty of the years in the girl yet!, Oh! well I'll try and be strong and say no to more.

I am posting a card for an Aunt I made a couple of weeks ago, because I haven't been blogging I have a few cards to show, at least it will keep me posting LOL.  It's a simple card but so effective in real life.  The images and border come from Audrey Jean Roberts' Blue Hydrangea 2 kit. All put together in PS and printed straight onto the card, then I added a 3D butterfly and added blue bling to the body, VERY quick card.

I'm going to enter these challenges with the card

Meercats

A card I made from the free downloads of Meercats from Papercraft Magazine Inspirations, I love these little characters, the papers I used to paper piece in PS and the background, lovely bright colours ay? are by Delicious Scraps, the bow is from ribbon I bought in a local craft shop, now closed sadly.  I used my Cricut and Fairycuts to cut out the shape.

A new card or 2 at last,

I have been very busy this first week of my semi retirement, I have had a couple of quite difficult requests that I have spent hours and hours on searching for ideas or free images, in the end it came all by itself LOL, I hope to show that card at a later date, I had to ask the artists permission to put it on here first.

I even made a cutting file for a card I saw on Papercraft Inspirations March issue 98. This is it, I have used Summertime designs lovely new papers Comforts of Home which I printed onto Cuddly Buddly eggshell gloss paper, (love it). The cup and saucer template was downloaded from Papercraft Inspirations, so I thought I would play and came up with this.  The cutting file is in WPC format, sorry don't know how to save it in anything else yet! If you would like it please email me and I'll send it to you.

I looked up Tea quotes and came across the one on the front and the quote by Prime Minister Gladstone in 1865, which I have placed inside. I haven't added anything else to the card, as in the magazine, but may add a little tag with happy birthday on it.

My other card is a quick and simple one made for a nephew who lives abroad, thought he may appreciate the flag cushion LOL.  The digi is from Little Musings, I have had it for years, I added digi paper, the denim stripe is by Gina Jane at DAISIE and the yellow check is called blue and yellow gingham! I have also had for years, just never saved the name at the time.  The file came with already coloured image as well as the chair drawing, but I decided to merge the coloured and the drawing to make it quicker, I had to get it in the post and thought I had made a card for him, but hadn't aarrrggghhh!  All done in PS, just added a bit of Stickles and a button, it says "on your birthday!" inside

I hope to get more done in future, I have a few ideas I can't wait to get done, sometimes MOJO is overactive and sometimes it's lost, why can't it just be nice and stable?

Hope you all had a lovely Easter, shame about the weather, but it WAS crafting weather LOL!
